Sylvie Staiger
Co-Director, Writer, Lead Actress
A Midwest transplant from Akron, Ohio, Sylvie developed an early passion for the performing arts and sought to build her career beyond the suburbs. She relocated to Chicago, where she earned a BA in Theatre Directing and Business of Performing Arts Management from Columbia College Chicago, training as a director, actor, and producer.
After graduating, Sylvie moved to New York City to pursue her dreams of becoming an actor and filmmaker. As a creative, she values collaboration and the fulfillment that comes from connecting with emerging artists, an ethos that led her to partner with Elizabeth to create Ode to Satine.
While film is a new frontier for Sylvie, her background in theatre has proven to be a valuable steppingstone. Her emotive acting style and physical approach to directing are clearly represented in Ode to Satine, which explores themes of limerence drawn from experiences she feels deeply connected to.
Sylvie is grateful for the team she and Elizabeth have built and is excited to promote their work alongside her own. Sylvie continues her filmmaking and acting journey with several projects in development and an eye toward her next creative chapter. Ode to Satine has allowed her to forge her own path into the industry she’s long dreamed of joining.
